Our Milk
Non-homogenised, non-standardised whole milk from our own Holstein Friesian herd. The cream rises to the top because we leave it alone.

One herd. One milk. Two ways to enjoy it.
Every drop comes from our own herd. We do not buy milk in, and we do not sell milk we have not produced ourselves. It is the same milk Tone uses to make cheese — just bottled instead of cultured.
We sell it fresh at the farm shop and through local stockists under the Bass River Dairies name. Shake the bottle before you pour — the cream sits on top because we have not broken it down.
Non-homogenised, non-standardised. No adjustments to the fat or protein. What you taste is what the cows gave us that week.
It tastes different because it is different
In spring, fresh pasture lifts the protein — the milk is rich and sweet. Over summer the fibre in the supplementary feed pushes the fat up and the protein back, giving a creamier, lighter-bodied milk. In winter the herd eats hay and silage, and the milk takes on deeper, warmer notes.
We think this is how milk should be. Not standardised to taste the same every week, but honest about where it comes from and when it was made.
Spring
Rich, sweet, and high in protein — the reward of lush green pasture.
Summer
Higher fat, less protein — the fibre in supplementary feed shifts the balance.
Winter
Deep and steady — hay and silage keep the milk full-bodied and consistent.
Whole milk. Whole farm.
